Off to the 59th General Service Conference

Aloha Hawaii Area!
Well, I am off to New York to attend the 59th General Service Conference.

I will be taking the group conscience of Hawaii Area to AA as a whole, all the while being conscious that I have a responsibility to vote in the best interests of AA as a whole.

I take all of your mana, experience/strength/hope, and love for AA with me.

I am because we are. Thank you.

Love in Service,
Elizabeth M.

June Committee Meeting Registration!

With the next Committee Meeting, to be held June 20, 2009 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Oahu, hosted by District 10 – Waikiki, we are trying a few new things to make it easier for everyone to register.

1. Online Registration

The first innovation is an online form. If you are a member who attends committee meetings, area officers, DCMS, and standing committee chairs, you can simply fill out the form by clicking the link above. An email will be generated with your information and sent to Patrick A., the District 10 DCM as well as a confirmation email to yourself. You must enter a valid email addresss to fill out the form. It does not have to be your @area17aa.org address, but, of course, we do encourage you to use that address. Do not submit the form multiple times as that will generate multiple emails. Just check your email to be sure it was sent. If you use an email system that filters for spam, you may have to check your spam inbox, don’t assume that just because you don’t see the confirmation in your regular inbox it wasn’t sent. :-)

Just note, you will have to enter the security code at the bottom of the form which you can see as a picture just to the above the submit button. These “captchas” are used to insure that these forms aren’t filled out automatically by a computer program for malicious purposes.

2. PDF Forms

In addition we now have the capability to turn PDFS into forms that can be filled out, saved, and emailed. The flier for the June Committee Meeting is on the same page as the online form, or simply click on the links in this message.

You will need to save the PDF once you’ve filled it out, but having done that, you can send it along to Patrick A., DCM 10.

You only need to fill out one or the other. If you’ve used the online registration there is no need to send the PDF and vice versa. The PDF does have driving instructions however, so it’s worth downloading if you are not familiar with the location.

Aloha!
