The next Mynah Bird will be coming out at the June committee meeting on June 19. Love to have lots of submissions from you folks so please send me your articles by Monday, June 14. With AA’s 75th birthday right around the corner, how about some reflections on our founders and what it means to your sobriety? Other ideas are:

• My very first AA meeting”
• Quotes for “Heard in a Meeting” and Rule 62″
• From all 3 Districts on Maui, Kauai and the Central North Shore, you either have had or will have had your Delegate Report Back. So there’s another idea for you guys.

I am home from the 60th General Service Conference, and I am still absorbing
the amazing experience I had! I am so looking forward to sharing it with you
all.

Thank you for a beautiful weekend of Love and Service in West Hawaii this
weekend. I feel like a trusted servant, not an instructed one (read Concept
Three).

Here is my bulleted list of “What to take back to your groups” (from the
eyes of the Delegate)

• Share your experience with your Agenda Item Roundtable you participated
  in.
• This was our first time trying ROund Tabels as a vehicle to Inform our
  Delegate, and while there could be improvements, seemed to generally well
  received overall.
• PRAASA 2011 will be hosted by Hawaii Area on Oahu March 4-6, 2011 at the
  Sheraton Waikiki. We need hundreds of volunteers for this service event.
  www.praasa.org.
• The International Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous will be held July
  1-4, 2010 in San Antonio TX. Registration is still open at www.aa.org.
• The 60th General Service Conference will be held April 18-24, 2010 in
  Rye, NY.
• Hawaii Area 17 Delegate will be doing report backs from the Conference
  throughout the summer. Ask your DCM when you District is shceduled to hold
  theirs. Please announce in meetings inviting embers to attend!
• Check www.area17aa.org for reports, upcoming events, our Area newsletter
  Mynah Bird and service resources.

Just a quick reminder that we will have a new Mynah Bird coming out at the February Committee meeting. And, you know what that means – the deadline for your submissions is coming right up. I’m extending it till the end of this holiday weekend, Monday night, February 15. So, put the finishing touches on your reports and send them to me so I can get them in this issue. Some ideas are:

We had a productive Mynah Bird roundtable at the Inventory Assembly and talked about the current Mynah Bird. We decided we like the cover word search puzzles and the new ‘Heard in a Meeting’ and ‘Rule 62′ pages. We also felt the Mynah Bird would benefit from submissions from more people. In our brainstorming session, we came up with a number of topics for future issues. For the next issue, which will come out for the February Committee Meeting, we’d like to suggest one of the following:

• “When the light came on” or “I came to believe”
• “Reflections on last year’s service experience.”
• “My first AA meeting”
• And as always quotes, etc for “Heard in a Meeting,” and “Rule 62.”

The deadline for the next Mynah Bird is February 14.
